Restyled, and with fresh new photography, Crochet for the Absolute Beginner is the ideal novice’s guide, containing crochet expert Pauline Turner’s clear, step-by-step guidance, inspiring projects and helpful hints and tips. The close-up photography and no-nonsense advice leads beginners through the basic stitches and techniques, showing them exactly what they should be doing, while the exciting projects — from scarves and bags to lacework — gradually increase in difficulty to challenge and inspire the reader as they progress through the book. The smaller, wire-bound format is ideal for crafters, as it will fit comfortably into a bag and will sit open while in use for easy reference.

This is a small guide, but perfect for the beginner who wants to learn to crochet! It may be small, but it packs plenty of details, abbreviations to terms, patterns, and mu to help a beginner become an expert and love the craft! Crochet for the Absolute Beginner is just as it sounds a beginner-s crochet book. It-s perfectly designed to take one from page 1 to page 138 and be able to create every small project and ev from any other book. The guidance, the material, and the information on hooks, yarn, and additional supplies are also listed inside. Makes it easy to look it up and recall specific information one may need for these projects and others the reader may want to make. The many things taught in this is basic, from learning the right way to hold and handle a hook, the tension of the piece stitched up, working with thicker yarn, new stitches to add a b flair and style to projects, working with sequins and even a fun addition, working with building tassells. Some of the projects include the most useful items for accessories or decor in the home, something anyone can and will use. Plus, the creative stitches are quite interesting and new to me too! Since many books have the same stitches and this one has some original ones that I haven-t yet tried and willing to try. One of these stitches that caught my eye and look like they-d make or add to a nice blanket or placemat would be the spike stitch. It-s unique, crafty, creative, and very much a nice addition to a project. This book is quite a great start for all crochet beginners and full of colorful step-by-step photos to follow! I really love this as well about the book, the easily viewable images and each using the real positions of the hook while performing the task, giving in each step. So I can-t say anything bad about this book, just that it really covers so much and gives the reader a chance to try something new and challenge the skills they learn, making them better crochet artists!"I have been given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion"

I confused about how to read crochet patterns than ever, but Ive comfirmed what I remembered from my grandmothers lesson about a basic double stitch is right. The one morsel of thought from the book is that even if I do something wrong, as long as I like how it looks, I should keep it. Done and done!
