The Blood of Olympus is the fifth book in the bestselling Heroes of Olympus series - set in the high-octane world of Percy Jackson. Though the Greek and Roman crew members of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen - all of them - and they're stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood-the blood of Olympus - in order to wake. The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance.

Okay i take it back. THIS book is the best in the heroes of Olympus series. Lots of adventures, lots going on, no major dragging out parts. Arse kicking giants, monsters and fricking Gaia. Also go team Leo he finally got his girl and hopefully his happy ending (just like everyone else) noone deserved than him

A nice end to a good series. I thought I was spoiled for a death but it turns out that was a spoil for a later book. So for this entire book I was bracing myself for this death and it was all for not. I loved this new set of povs. Reyna and Nico are great addiction. These are some of my favorite characters in this series so I was happy to get to know them better. Nico grew so much and I am so happy that he is starting to feel accepted at camp half blood. Watching him and Jason-s friendship progress was so gosh darn adorable. His new friend Will seems nice. I smell a romance brewing between them. It-s gonna be cute. Reyna is learning to trust others and confide in others. She grew so much. If there is a book out there with just her. I will go and buy it immediately. This is the exciting conclusion that the past four books have been leading up to. And I have mixed feelings about it. I mean liked the climax but it felt too easy and quick. Too simple. This was good, I love this series and I would recommend it. It-s a fun ride that an abundance of ages would enjoy. (less)

AHHHHHHHH!Wow. I was blown away by The Blood of Olympus. I can-t even begin to describe everything that happened because there was so much and it was all amazing. I don-t think I breathed through the entire book, I was just always on my toes. This entire series was incredible, and it just kept getting better and better with every book. I also loved that we got to s of the original PJO characters in The Blood of Olympus, while also giving a spotlight to characters like Reyna and Nico, who haven-t gotten to narrate yet thus far. I just have so many good things to say, this whole series was amazing. I am so happy with how it ended, and I feel like everything was just wrapped up perfectly with a bow. In conclusion, I now have a full-on addiction to Rick Riordan and Greek mythology, and I will likely not be recovering. The end.

"All aboard for one last trip.""We have one tied-up goddess. Now what?"The seven demigods are on the last stage of the quest, heading towards Greece, where everything is supposed come together. And everything did come together at the end... well, almost."Where there are tourists, there are bathrooms."With this being the last book of HoO, I was hoping for a single plot line this time around, with some minor secondary ones. But the author narrates the events of both Argo II team and Athena Statue "All aboard for one last trip.""We have one tied-up goddess. But the author narrates the events of both Argo II team and Athena Statue team, continuing with HoO-s rotating narration. Until the last few chapters, it was unclear how and where the big ending will occur. But I was glad about the Reyna-Nico-Hedge trio-s plot-line continuing from the House of Hades, for it was a lot interesting than I hoped. And Nico... he-s 2 for 2 now when it comes to coming through during last adventure."THOSE ARE NOT THE OFFICIAL SHOES OF THE OLYMPICS! YOU WILL DIE NOW!"I had expected this to be an entirely battle centered plot line, but the Argo II-s final voyage still encounters some new challenges prior to ending, adding some adventure elements to the story. And it did ended with the long awaited battle. However, for me, the two fronted battle didn-t feel as thrilling as it was with The Last Olympian, where PJO-s big battle happened. The climax seemed to have reached somewhere in the middle of the battle and I think the ending of the battle could-ve been a b satisfying. And as for the ending of the story, that also felt a little loose-ended. With all that said, I still loved the book."ASCLEPIUS -MD,DMD,DME,DC,DVS,FAAN,OMG,EMT,TTYL,FRCP,ME,IOU,OD,OT, PHARMD,BAMF,RN,PHD, INC.,SMH"And with that, it-s time to finish The Heroes of Olympus (for now). When compared to PJO, I don-t have any complaints whatsoever - for the stories have beco detailed and longer, while retaining the excellent style of writing. Another well thought-out series by Riordan, and just like with PJO, he did manage to keep a subtle loose end, to continue the stories along a new path."Complaining of unfairness is like assigning blame, Percy Jackson. It does no one any good."
