5 starsDo not read any spoilers in the reviews--I-m glad I didn-t, but oh, Mr. Riordan, you-ve ripped my heart out completely! This whole series has been a l serious than the two previous 5-book series in the Percy Jackson universe. There are plenty of laughs as is usual, and I have definitely cried in previous books, but this one really hit me hard! But that is real life. If this were real life, and people had to go through what Apollo is going through, things like this would happen. If this were real life, and people had to go through what Apollo is going through, things like this would happen. Rick Riordan does an amazing job of making his stories completely inclusive, realistic (well, realistic for this universe), and absolutely filled with compassion. If you have not yet read this series, go back to the beginning and start with Percy Jackson and the Olympians. While each series can be read as a standalone, they often refer to past events that could end up being spoilers for the previous series. Both Meg and Lester did not start out being my favorite characters, but as is usual for Rick Riordan, he has made me fall in love with them, warts and all. I don-t even know what he has in store for the last two books, but I-m sure he-ll be running me through all the gamut of emotions. Well done!

So far this has been the best book of the series. I-d even say it is one of the best books in the PJO Universe. Riordan continues to dig deep into both Greek and Roman mythology to the point where I-m actually learning about history. Apollo and Meg continue to show great character growth, but they still have the core characteristics that made me enjoy them in the first place. Apollo-s narration is still hilarious and the strongest I may have ever read. The return of several old characters was re So far this has been the best book of the series. This book hit me right in the heart even though I knew a major spoiler which is a testament to Riordan-s storytelling skills.

This was quite an improvement from the last one, in my opinion, and I liked that it addresses destruction of nature and human-made climate change but it was a bit on the nose, even considering it-s for kids and I think it still relies too heavily on the reader already loving pjo and HoO This was quite an improvement from the last one, in my opinion, and I liked that it addresses destruction of nature and human-made climate change but it was a bit on the nose, even considering it-s for kids and I think it still relies too heavily on the reader already loving pjo and HoO

The amount of pain this book has caused me its incredible, everytime i thought i was over it well i wasn-t and somehow i liked the fact that this hurt me, because it was a really good book, and I really cant wait to read the next.
